Our client who specialises in providing IT Support for the Education Sector is currently seeking a Tier 1 Service Desk Engineer to join their expanding and well-established central team based in Swinton, Greater Manchester.

I am currently seeking an IT Support Engineer - Tier 1 Service Desk Engineer staff to join my client's central team based in Swinton.


  • Duties will include owning incidents through to resolution, user support, user administration, customer liaison and site visits for technical cover work

  • 1st Line Support Engineer will resolve service calls as directed by the Service Desk

  • Provide technical assistance and report service issues in accordance with the Service Desk policies

  • Assist with project work as directed by the Technical Operations department


  • IT Support Technician with experience in Windows Desktop 7 and 10

  • Active Directory, DNS and DHCP

  • Exchange 2010 / 2013 / 2016

  • Virtualisation Technologies - VMware ESXi / Hyper-V

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written


  • Experience of supporting education environments / MSP is advantageous

  • Own transport and driving licence

  • Tier 1 Service Desk Engineer with MAC OS / IOS experience is advantageous

  • Windows Server 2008 and 2012/R2 and 216

If you do hold a current DBS/CRB Check then this would be advantageous along with experience working within an educational environment.
