Technical Support Engineer/Graduate

We are looking to recruit a Support Engineer to provide customer support services in a high-technology environment.

Experience of working in technical support in a high tech product environment is an advantage, although recent Graduates will be considered.


Requirements



  • Able to analyse and understand complex problems and identify their underlying cause-effect structure.

  • Sense of urgency.

    Has a drive for achievement and focuses on outcomes and goals; successfully achieves results.

    Understands what needs to be done; ability to "get the job done".

  • Motivated and able to work in a customer facing role.

    Considers interests of customers, courteous, seeks feedback, listens, positive approach.

  • Enjoys working in a technical environment.

    Knows how a lot of things work by being interested in how they work, rather than just accepting them.


Expertise



  • Ideally has experience in a technical support role in a high tech environment (Electronics, Software, Physics), although graduates will be considered.

  • Degree qualification in suitable discipline, 2:2 or better from a good university.

    An exception may be made for people with equivalent experience.

  • Able to investigate and understand complex technical customer issues and problems.

    Ensure issues are resolved promptly and appropriately.


In addition to the base salary there is a standard performance related bonus of up to 8% paid in December and a discretionary June profit-share bonus.
