2nd to 3rd Line Support Engineer

Due to ongoing expansion, our client is recruiting a 2nd to 3rd Line Support Engineer, based at their offices in Berkshire.

This is a  senior role, newly created, in our client’s MSP business within their GB technical services team.

 

As the successful candidate, you will have worked previously within this technical role for an IT support business, value-added reseller or managed services provider.

You have been successful and are now looking to make that next move to further your career.

 

To be successful, you will already have succeeded on a mixed service desk / onsite level or purely onsite /  project level and are now looking for further project delivery experience with a more technical aspect.

 

You will have shown how important you believe your professional development to be by achieving industry recognised qualifications such as CompTIA accreditations or Microsoft MSP / MCSE and have direct experience of working with common MSP tools and technologies, such as Autotask, ConnectWise, Kaseya, Zendesk, VMware, AWS, Azure and Office 365.

 

The role will include working with and therefore requires experience of;

  • Server platforms including Windows 2003, 2008, 2012, 2016 & SBS

  • Virtualisation platforms including Hyper V and VMware

  • Desktop platforms including Windows 7, 10 and MAC Operating Systems

  • Active Directory, DNS & GPOs

  • Office 365

  • Networking, switching, VPNs and Firewalls

  • Backup and Business Continuity including Datto & Veeam

 

Although covering a range of duties, high level works to account for 50-60% of the work with the remainder of the work being reactive support and proactive management, in turn, equally split between the Berkshire office and customer sites across London and the South East.

 

A full, clean driving license and access to own car are essential.

Based close to a Train station, convenient access to central London customers would be via train/tube rather than a car where appropriate.

 

Finally, as the core link between my client and their customers, you will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills.

 

Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 Per Annum (Subject to Experience + Health Plan).
