Snr Product Manager, User Journeys (Media) - London

£70 to £80k

My client, one of the UK's largest media publishers are looking for a product manager to lead a new user journeys team responsible for acquiring new users, developing relationships with them and building loyalty to our titles and products.


This is a wide-ranging role covering the entire user journey from first encounter with our products through to engagement, active involvement and brand advocacy.
They are an award-winning digital portfolio comprising more than 50 news titles, ranging from national publications such as Mirror Online and large regionals such as Manchester Evening News to smaller county, city and specialist titles.


We are experiencing phenomenal online growth, and the acquisition of Local World in 2015 has strengthened our presence in the local markets.


With close to 140m monthly unique users across our digital portfolio, we're well on our way to becoming the dominant local player online in the UK, and we're actively pursuing new opportunities for content-led products.

The role reports to the Head of Product, Established Products.

The product development team is based in Canary Wharf, but the role may also involve some travel to our regional offices.

Principal responsibilities
The product manager sets out an integrated strategy for acquiring and retaining users.

They bring in new users by optimising our products for search and social discovery, keep them coming back through
habit-building products such as alerts, social following, email newsletters and mobile apps, with the ultimate goal of converting them to registered users contributing opinions and story ideas.

They understand the triggers that move users through the discovery-engagement-loyalty funnel and track conversion at each stage.
