An exciting opportunity has arisen to be a part of our excellent Housing and Benefits Team.

We are seeking a Domestic Abuse Support Specialist to support those fleeing domestic abuse and ensure their safety.

The role will combine both housing and domestic abuse knowledge and you will need the skills to provide expert, specialist advice on domestic abuse and to support the housing service officers in preventing and relieving homelessness within the framework of the Homelessness Reduction Act.

You will ensure that the local authority meets its obligations in respect of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021.

What you'll be doing...

? Leading on the project to achieve the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance Accreditation


? Providing support to clients placed in temporary accommodation as a result of fleeing domestic abuse
? Preventing and relieving homelessness for those experiencing/fleeing domestic abuse within the framework of the Homelessness Reduction Act and the Domestic Abuse Act 2021
? Helping to arrange temporary accommodation when needed
? Providing advice and guidance to housing officers in cases involving domestic abuse
? Collecting and monitoring data in respect of domestic abuse in the district and collate related data across service area
? Working with the Norfolk Domestic Abuse Partnership Board
? Working with a wide range of partner organisations and housing providers to secure the best possible outcomes for our customers
