Lead Theatre Practitioner - Gynaecology & General Surgery

An incredible new job opportunity has arisen for dedicated Lead Theatre Practitioner - Gynaecology & General Surgery to work in an outstanding private hospital based in the Marylebone, London area.

As the Lead Theatre Practitioner your key responsibilities include:

·         Responsible for managing and leading the scrub team in the operating theatre for gynaecology and general surgery

·         Preparing the operating room, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures related to gynaecology and general surgery

·         Setting up and maintaining a sterile field

·         Assisting surgeons and anaesthetists during surgical procedures

·         Monitoring and assessing the patient’s condition throughout the surgical procedure

·         Anticipating the surgeon’s needs during the surgical procedure

·         Supervising and mentoring junior theatre scrub nurses

·         Ensuring compliance with infection control policies and procedures

·         Maintaining accurate documentation of patient care

·         Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care

 

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

·         A managerial certificate and at least years of senior/managerial experience

·         Minimum of 5 years’ experience in theatre scrub nursing, with experience in gynaecology and general surgery

·         Experience in leading a team of theatre scrub nurses

·         Comprehensive knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies used in gynaecology and general surgery procedures

·         Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure

·         Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively

·         Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

·         Knowledge of infection control policies and procedures

 

The successful Lead Theatre Practitioner will receive an excellent salary of £54,000 per annum.

This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours a week.
