As the Recovery Theatre Practitioner your key responsibilities include:
· Perform comprehensive assessments of post-operative patients, monitoring vital signs, consciousness levels, pain, and overall well-being
· Administer advanced post-operative care, including wound care, pain management, and medication administration as necessary
· Maintain vigilant watch over patients, promptly identifying any complications or adverse reactions to anaesthesia or surgery and taking immediate action
· Prioritise patient comfort and well-being, addressing their immediate needs and offering emotional support
· Maintain meticulous and accurate patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and patient responses
· Collaborate effectively with the surgical team, anaesthetists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of patient care
· Be prepared to respond to emergencies and life-threatening situations, such as cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or allergic reactions, following established protocols
· Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, including follow-up appointments, medications, and activity restrictions
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
· A minimum of 1 year of experience in post-operative care and recovery
· BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
· Strong knowledge of anaesthesia, surgical procedures, and post-operative complications
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
· Detail-oriented with exceptional critical thinking skills
· Proficient in collaborating effectively within a diverse healthcare team
The successful Recovery Theatre Practitioner will receive an excellent salary of £38,000 - £41,535 per annum.
This exciting position is a permanent full time role for 37.5 hours a week working on early and late shifts.
