Accounts Assistant / Semi-Senior Accountant

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire

Salary: £28,000 (DOE) + Excellent Benefits

The Client:

Our client is a well-established accountancy firm, committed to delivering exceptional financial solutions to diverse clientele.

The Role:

As an Accounts Assistant, you will collaborate with Directors and team members to ensure seamless practice operations, offering excellent service to all clients.

Responsibilities:

? Reconcile bank and control accounts in client bookkeeping software.
? Analyse general ledger and journal entries.
? Use online software (mainly QuickBooks Online, occasionally Xero and Sage).
? Process costs and expenses with automation software (DEXT).
? Manage sales and purchase ledgers.
? Perform bank reconciliations.
? Handle payroll and CIS journals.
? Conduct basic Corporation Tax work.
? Assist with corporation tax tasks post accounts preparation.
? Prepare and submit VAT returns following bookkeeping tasks.
? Review and check clients bookkeeping for standalone VAT preparation.


Requirements:

? Previously worked as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role.
? At least 2 years of experience working within accountancy practice.
? Prior experience with Sole Traders and Limited Companies.
? AAT qualified or currently studying
? Skilled in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
? Familiarity with QuickBooks Online software.

? Monday - Thursday: 09:00 - 17:00
? Friday: 09:00 - 15:00
