IT Support Engineer (Ship Vessels)

Location: London (Hybrid)

The Client:

Our client is a reputable ship owner, transported millions of tonnes globally, collaborating with leading organisations, shipping experts, and governments.

The Role:

As an IT Support Engineer, you will oversee the support, maintenance, and enhancement of IT infrastructure, directly reporting to the Head of IT.

Responsibilities:

? Provide on-site and remote support for IT systems and staff.
? Address and resolve IT operational issues promptly.
? Install, test, and maintain both physical and virtual hardware including laptops, printers, and tablets.
? Support and manage software applications.
? Monitor system performance to ensure availability and reliability.
? Implement and uphold IT policies and cybersecurity procedures.
? Escalate complex IT issues and risks.
? Update and maintain IT documentation.
? Collaborate with vendors and service providers for issue resolution and project advancement.


Requirements:

? Previously worked as an IT Support Engineer or in a similar role.
? Ideally have 2-5 years of relevant experience.
? Experience with vessel systems, specially in the shipping industry.
? Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
? Skilled in hardware and software troubleshooting.
? Background in Cyber Security would be preferred.
? Knowledge of ship automation systems would be beneficial.
