Residential Support Worker

An opportunity has arisen for a Residential Support Worker to join a childrens residential care provider, offering safe, nurturing and supportive homes for young people

As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide day-to-day care and guidance, helping young people build confidence, develop life skills and achieve greater independence.

This full-time permanent role based in Oxfordshire offers a salary of £31,870 and benefits.



You will be responsible for:

? Supporting daily routines, personal care, education and the development of independence.
? Planning and participating in activities, outings and community opportunities.
? Supporting appointments and family contact, including driving where required.
? Following individual care plans, behaviour support plans and risk assessments, responding appropriately to young peoples needs.
? Preparing meals, shopping, cleaning, laundry and maintaining a welcoming home environment.
? Maintaining records, completing handovers, reporting safeguarding concerns and attending training and supervision.
? Building positive relationships and ensuring young peoples wishes and feelings are heard.
? Perform other duties as required.


What we are looking for:

Essential:

? A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare, or a willingness to work towards it.
? Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
? An understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and professional boundaries.
? The ability to remain composed and professional when dealing with challenging situations.
? A willingness to work collaboratively, accept feedback and develop new skills.
? Enhanced DBS check.


Desirable:

? Previous experience within childrens residential care.
? Knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
? Full UK driving licence.
